Your brother has nothing to worry about when it comes to IP Address and boxing, since he's playing from a different state. If he's visiting you (or vice versa) this could becoming a problem down the line. Your wife will likely be sharing your IP Address, since you're likely using the same internet connection. The point of "1 person, 1 computer" is advising against 1 person manning multiple computers, not multiple people on one computer.

If you're worried about same IPs in the same house just tether one device to your phone. The game uses such little bandwidth.

Or just buy another modem and another router, IP conflict problem solved. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Congrats on getting your wife to play, but man... to me it sounds like you're going to plop a laptop onto her lap and tell her when to push buttons as you play.
Passing GM Boxing tests on the last EMU game I played required things like running in opposite direction circles and figure 8s. It was nothing requiring superhuman skills, just things you couldn't do at the same time on two clients.

Yeah, I don't share an IP address with anyone, nor does my wife.
I think this thread has probably told me and everyone else all we/they need to know. That being, there is nothing anyone can help with and I am better off playing less and not trying to involve anyone else. Thanks for the attempts at help, I do appreciate them. For what it is worth, I think that because Nilbog,Sirken Rogean et al. are unpaid they have to have a ban first first ask questions later attitude. It is, undoubtedly, best for the server but I wonder what is lost because we (well at least myself and one other) have to worry about such things. If they had a revenue stream and could devote more time, who knows what we might have. Thanks again everyone, hope to see you in game.

You aren't gong to get banned if there are actually two of you playing. I have a friend who plays with his wife and neither of them are really gamers, both keyboard turning casuals. They got tested and passed.
"my wife just got up to take care of the baby" is one of the most common excuses when people get caught boxing according to whatever gm was on one of sirkens recent streams.

If its you and your wife, you'll both pass. If its just you, you're accounts are getting the banned. Good luck.

We don't even share an ISP, I think it is very unlikely we share an IP address. In fact, if we get banned for sharing an IP address, one of our ISPs has a lot of explaining to do.
We both have fibre connections provided by our respective businesses. Seriously, no joke, I would know if we shared an external IP.
