I remember reading years ago during a dev chat, that there were hundreds of quests that hadn't been discovered or finished. I'm sure that number has come down over the years but it really wouldn't surprise me if there were quests that haven't ever been completed.

I also recall some rumors about Qeynos Hills, but it was hard to tell if people were just trolling or not. I remember a long thread full of "undiscovered lore" back around 2001 or 2002 that claimed that there was a lot more to Varsoon and Pyzin, though I don't recall specifically an SK soulfire like weapon. Naturally the person also didn't let in on the supposed secret they knew. I also recall they claimed there was some big deal with the Barb and Ogre pirates and something about a bell calling a ghost ship or something. Probably a bunch of BS.

Then of course there's Miragul's Highway...

I saw that ghost ship. Early Fennin, we were killing gargoyles in oot and this ghost ship came up and parked beside the island. Then two guys and a GM ported onto the island just as a giant air or water elemental spawned on the boat and attacked everyone.

We thought ourselves to be dwarf pirates so we ninja looted. GM got mad , but after our lead explained our pirating occupations, he ended up trading us a couple gems for whatever the quest drop was.

It's done for various reasons. I remember reading a news article about a boy whose wish to be a hero on EverQuest was granted by the Make A Wish foundation and he got to raid with Firiona Vie and kill a dragon or something along those lines.

Dwarf pirates gatecrashing a personal event...that's pretty funny.
