Its been pretty terrible so far.

Supposedly it's supposed to be worth it at some point...?

Can someone confirm this please.

I think it's moreso how whatever is being built will affect the surrounding area/environment and using those skills to plan the structure/park/etc to have less of an adverse affect. I know of one issue where paved roads that are too wide cause alot of problems with heavy rains... in the sewers and also above ground. It's like the wider the road, the more water that is being sent to the storm drains. That excess of water is essentially flooding the treatment plants when heavy rains occur. I know this is/was an issue in our area a handful of years ago.

I'm sure Tralina could tell you much better than I, though. I'm just a fan of pro enviro development!

Well, your degree will be worthless, but the experience is priceless.

Unfortunately these days, anyone with a pulse can complete a bachelor's degree. I've got 2 of them, neither have done anything to contribute to my career other than good life skills like time/priority management.

Finish your degree with the hopes of getting a MD/PhD. It's certainly not a bad thing to get your BS, but don't expect companies to drop their panties over you. That's not a reason to do it.

What are your degrees in? I think degrees that are a little more specific like mine are useful to some extent!

I'll definitely do a masters program once I'm done with this one. There's a few PhD programs out there for this, but I dunno how interested I am in that.

The problem is the real world and school world are two very different things.

Employers look at degrees as "Ok, he/she can complete a task," not "Ok, he/she learned a lot about this stuff."

MS/PhD is different, but soon enough, that will be more of the same.

Congratulations. Try to get involved in as many real world projects as you can through your school. A degree shows human resources at most companies that you are willing to stick with something, but real world experience always trumps it. Just don't do what I did and spend 8 years in school, only to work in a completely unrelated field. Always back a degree with passion and realism, or you're throwing away money.

I think this is more like a Masters/PhD type program or possibly just an upper level type of program (Much like the medical technology or nursing programs at universities)

Sooooo I think she's already been to college [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] That and the fact that she says her planning and efforts in college were not in vain. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
