Technically it's not plugged into a wall. Likely, it's in a server rack, which is in turn (one would hope) connected to a large UPS to allow for graceful shutdown.

FALSE: It will not shut off immediately. The server will gracefully shut down in a few minutes since the UPS will provide enough power to it and ( I am guessing) the JBOD or JBODs attached for storage for them to power off with a much smaller chance of data corruption. Hopefully they aren't also sing a data dedupe solution, since if that doesn't have enough time to flush the dedupe index cache, you will get orphaned data, resulting s corruption. Thankfully, this scenario probably won't happen any time soon, unless the new owners of the EQ IP decide to go all blizzard on the emus. Too bad for you Herr Goebbels.
