If you say so. It's offensive. If "yomama" is offensive there is no argument that can be made that holocaust is not offensive. GMs can save their holier than thou attitude in regards to education unless they want to post their college information.

I've always been offended by the fact that the word has been warped to mean a single event in human history. Other events that include mass genocide must be defined to include the Armenian Holocaust, the Cambodian Killing Fields, the Bosnians, the Rwandan Genocide, Native Americans, The Black Holocaust, the Sudanese, etc. The Jewish Holocaust deserves the same treatment.

That said, the definition of The Jewish Holocaust usually includes "The". If the guild name were "The Holocaust" it may be different.

This argument is old and tired. It's an acceptable guild name for P99.

I just started on red and my only experience with Holo has been entirely positive. Very helpful and friendly people. I don't know much about guilds on this server, but I've been told they're pretty much the top endgame raiding guild on the server, and for that reason I might join up some day.

With that said, the guild name is CLEARLY offensive and I don't understand how anybody can find it inoffensive. I think it's in incredibly poor taste. That the word can technically apply to any genocide does not change the fact that for hundreds of millions of people across this planet, the word immediately conjures images of a specific bitter and personal tragedy.

Voluntarily changing the name costs them nothing and may allow them to recruit those who are too personally offended by the name to join up...just saying!
