I just formatted for the first time in a couple years - it feels pretty goog.

I'd have written this in my livejournal, but I lost my login credentials with the format.

I have an old slow 120gb solid state - I just eliminated my linux boot and freed up 40gb more. This solid state may be a few years old but I'd still put myself in the 90th percentile as far as zone times - still way faster than any no-SSD/no-Ramdisk setup.
