Default action bars resetting

So, my action bars are resetting themselves to default every time I zone. My settings are also reverting to default when I log out and back in (I'm using /camp). Does anyone know why this might be and how I can fix it?

I am experiencing a similar issue, except my entire UI resets each time I log. It is like the game is not saving a character settings file.

i recently noticed on my computer that I have different UI setups depending if I launch EQ in admin mode or not. I have my EQ stuff installed to program files which for windows 8 you can't modify without admin access or something dumb.

There is a separate location for files that I alter in-game that is pulled from if I load the game not in admin mode. I can't remember the location off the top of my head, but turn your logs on and search for eqlog.txt and that should find the alternate file save location.

If this is a similar thing for you, which it sounds like it could be, try starting the game in admin or copy the UI files from your install location to the other location.

You need to make your Everquest folder writeable by unchecking read-only from its properties (apply it to all subfolders when prompted as well.)

You'll also want to run your game as admin, or turn off UAC entirely for good measure.
