Linkdead in Oasis (mostly during combat)..

Hey all,

I played here before a while ago but recently came back. My shaman is level 20 now and I started grinding crocs near the docks. On occasion I do get the random lag spike but it seems like 50-75% of fights I am going LD mid-fight. The game still allows me to move around as all the mobs and PCs disappear. Nothing happens and I end up having to /exit and restart the client. I log back in and this obviously results in a dead Shaman somewhere near the docks. So far I've turned off combat music since I heard that could cause issues and tried win95 and win98 compatibility. I'm at a loss.. any idea what this could be?

Also.. I should note that this didn't start happening until level 20. I got to that point without going LD once.
