This server represents a snapshot in time, that many experienced and never found anything like it again.

For me, I will always participate, and based on the players I know, I am not alone.

My only real regret for all P99 servers is that so many who play here, and have played here, played too late too see the server before "competition" became so personal.

Some stuff might break in the client in 2038, but that's about it.

Also, you have the looming threat of Microsoft phasing out DX9 someday. There's that too.

If timestamps were changed to a 8 byte timestamp, we'd still run into issues in Sun, 4 December 292,277,026,596 - but by that time, the earth is probably going to be swallowed whole by the sun, so that's likely not to be an issue.
