Not to mention a virtual world would look pretty weird with a 9:1 male to female, being generous here, ratio. For the same reason this train wreck of a game, Scarlet Blade, didn't work out using a female only world. It's a ridiculous concept.

I dunno know about the same types, but that's kinda the same idea. And especially with that case, we have men's preconceived ideas of what women are defining those new gender roles. It's off the mark just like men pretending to be women often are in games.

People treat other sexes differently. There is a phycological effect that registers in the brain as well as a neurological chemical release even if it is a pixelated character you are viewing. Men and women will treat female/male characters a different way no matter what. The person controlling the opposite sex toon will slowly take traits of that sex, even if very slightly (more heehees,teehees etc)

I wouldn't bother asking you for a source, since it is your own imagination, but your primary concern seems to be the perceived changes in the viewing(you, autobiographical) player rather than the player behind the viewed(pixel girl) character. People who are sexually confused and trying to control their own homoerotic impulses with denial(homophobia) often seek out strictly regimented social structures(Catholic church) in order to avoid and control temptations. Is that how you need EQ to be?

Along those lines, I am curious about a few things. Which of the female models cause the most problems for you. Are you subconsciously attracted to the Ogres and Trolls? Is it acceptable for a male character to play a female of these races because they do not arouse you? Is the female gnome a problem? Does a 3' tall image with no breast development do it for you? Have you ever levitated over to an effeminate toon with too many vowels in its name only to find out it was a male wood elf?
