![]() In lieu of a map, knowing how to use the /loc command is helpful in finding your way around. Getting familiar with dechiphering the coordinates given will help you greatly when another player calls out for a desired piece of loot rotting on a corpse.
Now, Sony apparently thought it entertaining to rotate the cardinal directions 90 degrees clock-wise, so the X-axis is S(neg) to N(pos) and the Y-axis is E(neg) to W(pos), like so: oooW ooo| ooo| S-----N ooo| ooo| oooE Basically, just ignore that and know the first number given by the /loc is S/N, the second E/W. Example /loc: -1182.68,867.30,19.04 -1182.68 gives your position on the S/N-axis, 867.30 your position on the E/W-axis and 19.04 is your position on the Z-axis, i.e. your elevation - usually only relevant in multi-levelled dungeons. Now, if you want to travel to the coords 575.00,-3155.00,() you'd have to travel ~1750 points north and ~4000 points east, which would be a ENE heading. In other words, if your first number is moving towards positive as you move, you're headed north (and negative for south), and if your second number is moving towards positive, you're headed west (and negative for east). Final note: I see this often when people give coordinates for others to find; they give out the exact numbers. In far the most cases, rounding off to the nearest hundred will do nicely, and will be easier for the recipient to remember. So if you want to direct someone to a corpse at 582.97,-1236.80, just give it as pos600,neg1200 - they'll easily see it from there. Exact coordinates can be called for in a labyrinthine area, however.

![]() A good way to remember which is which:
When you look at a woman, you begin by looking at her up and down. Then you focus on her left and right qualities. Same with loc, up and down first, left and right second.
