One day you will realize that you are not god. Items are not worth what you think they are worth, they are worth what the highest bidder will give you. You either take the best offer you can find, or you can sit on the item until the sun burns out. The rest of this discussion is just us throwing poo.
Fair market value (FMV) is an estimate of the market value of property, based on what a knowledgeable, willing, and unpressured buyer would probably pay to a knowledgeable, willing, and unpressured seller in the market.

Items are not simply worth what a buyer is willing to pay as you are suggesting.

They are also not worth what the auctioneer is willing to sell it for.

They are worth exactly the amount at the intersection where buyer and seller are willing to accept the amount.... markets are not one sided.

Also, I'm pretty sure he isn't claiming to be god by stating: I don't feel the need to negotiate my already fair price.

yeah I dunno maybe I'm just fortunate enough to not need to maximize my gain at every opportunity

feels kind of good to say "that's a fair price, I'll take it" instead of haggling over 500 plat

Well, you sell things like Trak guts and Pulsing Green Stone for 500kpp. Of course you don't need to nickel and dime your barters. Not everyone has a stranglehold on the servers economy like you.

All those trades were on behalf of my guild. As far as trading my own items, I've always settled on and accepted non-exorbitant pricing, generally below market value. An extra hour of selling isn't worth an extra thousand plat or whatever if you have shit to do.

Well, poopsocking tends to take away from trading time.

Some people don't know that you're already selling the price at a lower rate. And even still, trying to negotiate for a lower price even when the item is being sold cheaper than usual is NORMAL. People want to save money, they want better deals. Do you think most people go to the grocery store and buy all their shit wholesale? NO. They want for things to go on sale so they can get what they need and save money doing it.

How fucking thick can you be?
you are the thick one, smalls. you just put your foot in your mouth and didn't even realize it.

first, if someone doesn't know the value of something they shouldn't be offering money for it.

second, wholesale means something different than how you are using it.

third, Keke already has it on sale (ie below market value). you are suggesting we take an item that's already on sale and offer to pay even less for it because we want a deal.

last, of course people want to buy things at below market value, that's why sales exist.

I couldn't care less how many morons and rude assholes are on this server. You all know who you are. If you just said to yourself "hes certainly not talking about me", I am talking about you.

Honestly most people have absolutely no idea how to trade and barter here. Somewhere in the last 15 years you all went soft, being continuously stroked off by autistic auction houses and games that took messy "best in slot" loot shits all over your chests via daily missions. You have forgotten how to play a real game that has a socially based economy.

Sellers /auction an item, at a certain price. If that price is above what you wish to buy it for, try a fucking counteroffer. I have lost count of how many idiots ask the current asking price and then fuck off when I tell them. Play the game. Counteroffer with a lower price, I am ALWAYS going to accept less than the first asking price. There is ALWAYS a middle ground.

I know many of you are trashy enough to be fans of Pawn Stars or Hardcore Pawn or whatever. I fucking am. Just pretend you are a bald obese middle aged white man who likes to play with medieval swords. It will take you far in life.

This. As an African-American female ordained Episcopalian minister, I have indeed found that pretending I am a bald obese middle aged white man who likes to play with swords, has more times than I can count, facilitated my ability to fulfill my duties as a pastor, and more than that, enriched my interactions with my community overall. Not just my parishioners have benefited.

God bless,
Sadre

We missing the point here. The multiple time RMTer is bothered by something. Shouldn't we simply be laughing and blacklisting him off the server?

Let me put it this way. If someone were selling a FBSS for 1kpp, a ridiculously lowball price, I would STILL try and haggle that person for a better deal. Why? Because even though they're selling the item for ridiculously cheap, they may not know what the thing is worth and I might still be able to get a better price out of them.

The best traders haggle for every nickel and dime they can.
the best traders know that maintaining good relationships with customers and suppliers is important. people tend to avoid dealing with nickle-diming jewbags if they can help it.

Just cause someone can try and get something worth $10.00 for a jewish dollar versus a dollar, doesn't make them a good trader.
