MNK Epic for Iksars who have trashed their FP faction

Is it worth it to try fixing your FP faction, or is it feasigble to just buy the FP/Qeynos Headband and sash in tunnel, and do it from there?

I gathered all the stuff for the Purple Headband and did the turn-ins on a freshly created level 1 monk in Qeynos.

Also farmed stuff for the Red Sash intending to do the same, but my brand new monk didn't have the required faction. Turns out you can kill the monk GM (level 35ish) outside of the Freeport monk guild. Not sure what the drop rate on the sash but she dropped it on my first try.
