I started back last week, fairly casual with my playing time because of Work and RL responsiblities.

But this server....so far, sucks for grouping. Try to find a group for Orcs in EC, nothing, Try to find a group for Blackburrow , nothing...everyone is trying to solo.

Im not a twink, i Don't have +55 HP rings and full class armor, I cant solo this crap. Yet getting a group is totally impossible. I almost want to reroll a cleric or druid so at least I can get groups.
So many people complaining about finding groups, why i am the only person who seems to not have any problems finding groups?

I think you guys just do something wrong. Sometimes it takes a bit time but i always find one. Use /who zone-in-your-level-range , send people in that zones tells, ask them if they are grouped, if there is spot in grp if not if you can get on the list. Ask them if other groups in zones, whats camped, who are the group leaders, send tells to the group leaders, get on as many lists as possible. If that doesnt work, make your own group. Star with /who lfg you lvl range (for example /who lfg 18 24) If theres not enough start with /who tank or healer in your lvl range. /who all cleric 18 24, /who all pal 18 24 and so on) send the nearest to your location tells, there is ALWAYS a way to build a grp. As soon as you got tank and heals fill rest with dps its easy. Dont aim just for the LFGs send tells to non LFGs you will always find people, just takes a bit effort.

You doing it wrong.

Also keep adding good grp members to your friend lists as more as you get on it as easier it will be to find groups/people to fill your grps.

Thanks Nedala, that's some useful info (especially the /who lfg , /who all <class> with level range queries.

Because you player a healing class, and because you belong to a fairly large guild.

Nope that's not true. Like many others here, I agree that getting into a decent group on this server is a lot more difficult than it should be... probably because there are so many people playing solo classes. Just take a look at that poll regarding "Who is your main and alt" and you will see what I mean. Look at how many people are playing necromancers, for example. It's a disproportionately high number, given the general breakdown of the rest of the classes.

I think the opportunities for grouping are far more limited on this server than they should be. And that's bad, because a lack of community cohesion and interdependence is precisely what killed EQ live in the first place. We seem to be seeing a repeat of that same dynamic here.

I often send tells to Mages and Necs to fill DPS spots and i often get them to group with....

Also i play an enchanter too, and i wasnt in a large guild all the time. I group very often with non-guild-grps so your point doesnt count really.

You will now probably say sure i find lot groups on my ench because of crack, and on my druid because shes a healer, but i also had no troubles finding groups on my ench b4 she was lvl 29. The key is to send a lot of tells, im absolutely sure there is not much difference for all classes.

Damn you no-edit-button:

I agree that there is too much soloing going on since the grp exp was nerfed solo exp is just WAY to much profitable imo, id like too see either solo exp nerfed or grp exp improved.

Like I said: take a look at that poll. And take a look at which class is in the majority. It's my class... necromancers, who are generally accepted to be the most versatile solo class in the game. So if that poll is any indication of the breakdown of classes on this server, then it becomes clear that we have a LOT of people soloing and significantly less people grouping.
