If the GMs would like players to resolve these issues amongst themselves, and this is their way to do it, they need to rethink their strategy. When BDA was suspended for a rule violation, while I was part of those suspended, I nodded and went "Yup, that's deserved.", because it fucking was. What happened was a clear violation of the rules. That type of enforcement should still be here.

Bring the rage, bring the fury. Suspend guilds infractions like this, make it so that going to GMs is such a costly move to all involved. Why? Because that means players will believe their best course of action to avoid frequent applications of suspensions is to handle shit amongst themselves, and to deal with each other in a more reasonable way. Only when settling matters between each other is a less costly action than going to a GM, will you see this type of stuff while a group that strives for a class C style is in class R. Nothing has changed from before these rules if they are not rigidly, and freely enforced. What is the worst that happens, a small fraction of the small fraction of high end raiders quit? A portion of the loudest, most angry, nasty, shitty people leave the server? Good, fuck 'em.

The main reason why this type of shit happens is lax discipline like this. There is a clear violation of a very clear and well known rule. Dish out a suspension like you did for BDA. Continue to throw out suspensions to anyone that violates rules. Make it so that people who violate rules and fuck with other guilds, both guilds have a better chance with a positive result by talking to each other and being reasonable, than going to a GM.

Seriously, the discipline in this server is so damn lax. There's no consistency in delivering of punishments, it is no wonder people are in such disarray on such a lax server. You don't answer to the guilds, so if you see something, as Rogean did with BDA, fucking suspend them. Instill fear and make people realize this type of bullshit doesn't fly, and I assure you, people will think twice before KSing, and will think a third time before getting GMs involved.

IMHO, the difference between CSR/GM Penalties vs Rogean Penalties is the public call-out. Rogean has done it (BDA, TMO, IB, Yibz, etc.) where as Sirken has always seemed to keep things close to the vest.

Just my observation.
