Every notice on really boxy servers rogues are one of the least used classes? They require a high level of focus to play well. Fights tend to get chaotic, whether you're grouping or raiding. A well played rogue can handle the worst mob bounce imaginable and still land backstabs in the right spot on the hit box. That's the skill of it. That's the fun of the class.

Rogues are awesome. GL to you. It's hard coming into this server as a pure melee, period. You have a long road to being a high end rogue, but it's so rewarding and you'll appreciate it more for the hardship.
