A higher xp modifier for levels 1-35 would be awesome. By then you'd know if you like the class you're playing.
Agree it doesn't really matter what you do with these levels if it keeps people around. Any caster is pretty easy to blow through these levels but I do feel for the melee's trying to get up through the ranks.

Exp bonus is temporary and whatever it is set to is the new standard. Case in point, the permanent scaling exp bonus between 1-50 isn't causing players to flock to server. The fact that you've actually attained something when you get to high 50's-60 gives people something to play for and causes them to be more "sticky" once they do get to higher levels. If you cheapen the experience, players just use insane exp modifier to get to 60 and then quit NBD.

I agree with the exp bonus to get players out of the low levels where there are literally no players but adding permanent higher exp bonus isn't going to cause there to be more lower level players permanently.
Even with the vanilla red bonus its very long to get to 60

To me its way more fun trying out a second class than grinding out an extra 3 weeks so i can feel ive "accomplished" something

Plenty of emu boxes where you can grind out multiple meaningless characters to "try them out."

Theres a difference between asking for a level 70 character in a couple of hours and saying the grind shouldnt be something only people who play this game for 40 hours a week for months on end attempt, is there not.

People are here to relive what it was on live which means slow leveling. Everyone is focused on getting to 60 as the only goal. Plenty of people played years of EQ without ever getting to 60 because they just enjoyed the game.

I mean I get what you are saying but what you are suggesting is what YOU want and I don't think it will help population because it creates throw away characters that don't mean much. Casual play is probably not good for red server because of deserted low levels but blue you can accomplish a lot, socialize and mess around on a couple of chars without a huge time investment just don't set out with getting to 60 as your goal.

To me a good rate would be 1.75 which i think it was for a while when pop reached close to 200 last year. Rate might feel fast for people who know exactly where to level, have pocket druids but that rate isnt fast for the "regular" semi-casual crowd who doesnt know eq inside out, doesnt box over a VPN, which might be tempted to fuck around the emulator and stick around if theyre having fun. I think thats the pool of players waiting to be tapped. Even drop the rate to 1.0 but boost group xp to 1.75 or 2.0+

Theres no reliving Rallos, devs fucked it up hard and left a crippling to the pvp scene xp loss on pvp death custom setup for a year and a half. Now the pop is mainly at the high levels, its no fun grinding out solo for months before you can reach any living soul for your first group. I played 2 years on Rallos 2001-2002 and only reached 44 why, because pvp was alot of fun. Devs just dont get whats fun pvp-wise cuz they dont play their box and theyre not pvpers, im pretty sure of this. They just dont get it.

WIth a group bonus people might be tempted to roll alts to go play with an influx of new people but theres yet again a crippling blow to a flourishing pvp scene with this ill-thought stupid PnP shit. Its like a never ending comedy of errors.

But frankly, with horribad decisions like PnP i feel like i shouldnt give even the slightest fuck about where things are going cuz server never will take off. Itll peak a little when velious comes out like it did with Kunark then itll die a slow agonizing death.
Thats my nostradamus prediction, which of course could be wrong.

If melee got a boost like the opposite of the hybrid penalty then people would go out of their way to group with them since it'd be shared with the rest of the group..

exp boost does not matter if you quit at 52 due to no bosses

why bother? play something else

like pvp? Daoc , like content and depth? try eve, great faction warfare and endless science
