It becomes a "get out of jail" card for the rich. 1k is nothing to a lot of the players who have been on the box for a long time.

As I see it, the vial of smoke was probably intended as "oh shit button" with regards to PvE. An argument can be made that a cast time will ruin its intended usefulness, however, the inability of players to use it in PvP brings more balance to the box and out weighs the PvE concerns.

The only middle ground would be to not allow the use of the pot when engaged in PvP, like other clickies, but since gate is self only that would take a LOT of extraneous coding for very little gain. Give it a cast time and leave it at that.

So?

Character progression/advancement, accumulation of wealth, etc. have always been the core tenets of CRPGs. This is not a symmetrical competitive environment, nor should it be.

I don't necessarily disagree your accumulation of wealth statement. My second post better explains my stance on the vial of smoke.

3 second gate is still op and I'll still spend 1k for one. Reg gate is a 6 second cast.

Therr is some good argument for the purchased gate pot but if you made it instant your introducing a pay to win mechanic that nobody wants.

It will breed more greed over shit items to vendor over giving to others and trickling down to free newbie gear.

Its 3 sec I think should stay. Run around a corner and cast it.

Crazy fucks, these patch notes were amazing, i wish the dropped one in CT was cast time too tho, i hate anything thats instant and recruits no other skill than poopsocking a camp for hours to get it
