Question My Getting Started Thread - Help!

ok so I have everything installed and I went and logged into character selection and it tells me I am missing files or something. I remember I needed to DL a patch to get in sync with P99 but cannot find it. Also I remember a long time ago I had to chenge file names of a couple/three places like Nektulas, Arena and somewhere else. Anyone feel like throwing the needed info up for me so I can finish this and log on?

Heya and wb to classic! the files can be found here on the update link (v28, launcher might still work not sure) v28 will give you the files you need to put into your eq/resources folders in order to play here

Spells File is outdated now [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] I don't guess that fixed the problem.

edit: n/m got it, logging in now to see if Nek Forest works. Pretty sure I had to change files over before.

Duxa Installer does it all by its self. And probably the best UI for Casters and Bards on P199 in my opinion.

So I went to try to make my game full screen and it crashed on me, now everytime I go to log in, it tries to go fullscreen and crashes with this message. I went back to windowed mode until I get this figured out.

Still need the classic spell icons, the current ones are not correct for a lot of spells.

My suggestion is to start over doing this:

Install a fresh Titanium install. Before doing anything make a copy of the entire directory and set it aside in case you have to start over.

Then go through the steps in the "getting started" thread rather than using the patcher....there is a link on the main page on the left menu bar. In that thread there will be a link to the current spell files and will give specific instructions on what to do for each step. Just follow the instructions as listed in order.

Also in that thread there will be a link for WinEQ2. Download and install that. Launch it and configure for p99. If memory serves, all you have to do is point it to the EQ directory. Then have winew2 generate a desktop launch icon. use this for launching p99 not the normal one.

That should fix your problem. A lot of newer systems conflict with this older software but wineq seems to fix it. You will have to play in a window but you can maximize it so you hardly notice. And its handy to be able to tab over to a browser page with the wiki and forums up while playing.

If you get this far and everything is running, you can copy over your old inis and UI files if you still have them.

For whatever reasons I was able to play fullscreen using just the client a few years ago but have had to use the wineq workaround for about the last 2. Haven't had a single problem since, though.
