Default Installation error

I had EmuEQ installed and played for many months previously. Then the screen would go black (in EQ Live as well!), and I never got that issue resolved. So I uninstalled everything and decided to start all over.

I'm trying to install EQTitanium with Daemon Tools Lite and I get the error -

"An error (-5006: 0x80070002) has occurred while running setup.

Please make sure you have finished any previous setup and close other applications. If the error still occurs, please contact your vendor: Sony Online Entertainment."

Computer Stats:
• Laptop ASUS G72gx, Intel Core Duo P8700 at 2.53 MHz (+5% overclocked), 6 GB RAM, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit O/S
• Graphics card – NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M
• All drivers are current, all devices working properly
• I play through wireless (WLAN) DSL, through a Netgear router.

I am attempting to install EQTitanium from an external portable hard drive, but I have also copied the filed to my C-drive and tried if from there with the same error.

I downloaded a fresh version of EQTitanium from online, and got the same error.

I am not computer savy, if anyone can help I'd appreciate it in plain language with step-by-step of what to do or what's wrong.

Thank you.

I think this has something to do with the uninstall not running properly and junk in the registry from the previous install. Uninstall, then grab https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner and run the registry cleaner. it should give you the option to make a backup first as well which is recommended. If that doesn't fix it try reinstalling in safe mode (F8 during boot).
