Fear not, forum warriors!

Go to "User CP" when you are logged in, on the blue horizontal bar at the top. Scroll down and look on the left side, under "Settings & Options" title, click Edit Options. Scroll down to "Messaging and Notification" heading in the middle. Look further down for "Visitor Messaging" within the same section and check:

Limit usage of Visitor Messages to Contacts and Moderators

Now, right below that is "Thread Display Options"

Uncheck all three options:

Show Signatures
Show Avatars
Show Images

Now scroll ALL the way down and click Save Changes.

VIOLA, you can browse the forums again without seeing that shit. Images that get posted show up as the clickable links to where they are hosted, so, you can click things from established posters if you'd like, and avoid the ones from single-digit troll accounts.
