Makes you wonder why there's a key system still in effect - you don't beat LoL by keeping numbers capped and potential players at a distance, surely?

This is correct. Has LoL had a tournament with a $1,600,000.00 prize pool before? Well, DotA 2 has. In fact there have been 2 DotA 2 tournaments so far with that prize pool. The winning team of these tournaments get $1,000,000.00

how dare a game have its doors closed to improve upon it?

nevermind the fact that LoL still runs like it was made by 12 people in someone's basement for 3 years after release.

"closed" - yet everyone has a ton of spare beta keys... strange that. Either not popular or its about time it exposed itself to the world.

It might be better than LoL, I've not played it... but there's no denying LoL's popularity. If you could dump the shit community and replace it with a P99 casual gamer one I'd say that alone would make LoL a much better game to play.
