Default Problem running on laptop

I normally play from my home PC but am away on work at the moment in Dubai.

I copied my P1999 Everquest folder to my laptop before I left, and have set up a new icon on my desktop with the patchme switch.

Whenever I try to run the program, I am getting a Windows error message that says:-

"The instruction at 0x02c7f0ce referenced memory at 0xfffffffc. The memory could not be read.

Click on OK to terminate the program"

I have tried running the config program as the laptop has a different graphics card to my home PC.

Any ideas on what could be causing this and if it's possible to fix it?

I need my P99 fix!

Download directx 9.0c from microsoft. If that doesnt work go into your options on the launcher and change the resolution to 800x600.

Have you tried running in compatibility mode? Running in 640 x 480?

Had tried running in compatibility mode with no luck, but forcing it to 640x480 did the trick, it looks ugly but it works enough for me to get my fix!

Thanks Honest!

I think on my laptop (I will check later and confirm) after i did 640x480 i went into ingame options and changed screen size then turned it off. I don't play at full screen but it made it better. Glad, you got it working tho! I'll let you know what mine is set to.
