Default Eq Emu Launcher

Is there a way around using this thing? Seriously it sucks, i never had any problems until we went to using this by default, now half the time the server list wont even come up to begin with. Anyone know of a way to bypass using this, or having similar problems?

I figured out a way around it, you just have to use the old way of launching, i wasn't sure it would still work. Go into your eq folder, find eqgame.exe, make a shortcut of it, then right click the shortcut, go to properties and in the target line at the end, put a space and write "patchme" without the quotes. Then all you do is use that shortcut to launch directly.

Thanks man, this worked like a charm. I have been trying for 4 hours to log into the game but kept getting spammed with the error that it could not connect to the server, but now I can play!

Does this essentially do everything that the emulauncher does? We won't miss out on files after a patch or anything?

I would prefer this method for sure.

If you don't use the Launcher you have to manually remove the files that are patched and copy in the new versions, yes. But patches are few and far between so it's not that big of a deal. I only use the launcher after a patch and use the normal shortcut method the rest of the time.
