Bracers of the Reverent (Clerics)

Hello clerics!

Instead of buying these bracers for close to 400pp each from the folks that can't stand to *not* see their ad in the chat window at all times, do the quest yourself. Here's what you do:

1. Kill Regis the Reverent in North Karana (1450, -1560). He's in the tree line near the East Karana bridge. He will drop the Ingot of the Reverent and a flute (and whatever other garbage zombies drop). He's almost always up, presumably because his trigger is a named mob (Zahal the Vile) that's always killed because he's near-ish the wizard spire. If Regis isn't up, go kill Zahal. I've never seen Regis not standing there, though.

2. Take the Flute to the gypsy camp in Rathe Mtns (3750, 1500). Give it to Lianna. She gives you the Icon of the Reverent.

3. Buy two platinum bars from your hometown jewelry merchant. With 60 CHA, I'm able to buy these for 105pp each in Neriak (I'm a dark elf). Have an enchanter enchant the bars for you.

4. Turn in the ingot, the icon, and the two enchanted platinum bars to Gavel the Temperant in the Temple of Solusek Ro (in Lavastorm).

5. Repeat steps 1 -4. They aren't LORE, so do it again! It didn't take that long, did it?

6. Bask in the glow that you don't have to pay 700+ plat to get a pair these bracers.

In summary: One mob to kill (okay, MAYBE two), two turn-ins, everything in zones with a druid ring relatively nearby. It's not worth the 200 plat to have someone do this for you, and the folks that are price gouging know this.

200 Plat is not a lot. And it's def worth 200 plat to not have to run around.

There is certainly some perspective on how easy 200pp is to get for some people.

I was level 20 before I saw 200 plat in my bank.

However, this is an excellent post. Screw price gougers.

What is that supposed to mean?

I started last week as a cleric and am up to level 18 with 20pp to my name and I don't even have all of my spells. Coin is extremely difficult to get as a low level character who takes forever to kill anything solo and spends 98% of her/his time medding in a group. The only reason I even have any armour besides cloth and most of my spells is because of a few kind souls giving me stuff.

Preach it, brother! I'm in the same boat. Every decent item I am wearing is also due to the generosity of other players. Luckily all the gear in the world won't compensate for a shitty player (skill- or personality-wise), so I'm not stressing.

Yep, cleric is not cash character - anyone who has never played as first main really has no room to talk.
