Hit the options menu on the main log in screen and set Everquest to the lowest resolution. Once in game you can change the resolutions back to something your OS supports.

cheers, i feel like that would work. is there a way to access the options without launching the game? i don't even make it to the login screen.

edit: found the options editor in my EQ directory. will give this a go.

yo dawg i heard you like edits: resolution change results in a no go. Any other ideas?

Move the eqclient.ini file out from the EQ folder and lauch the game. See if it rebuilds itself.

while it does appear to have 'rebuilt' itself (new eqclient.ini file after trying to launch), still no login screen or anything. i find this strange because i am able to play the shards of dalaya client and have done a full re-install already.

i've run into a lot of strange errors in my time but never this one in particular.
