Default Returning !

It is time for me to breath in a breathe of nostalgic air, I'm returning to P1999. I don't expect anyone to remember me, as my previous time here was over a year ago and I didn't reach any level of note, but I certainly remember how everyone was helpful and friendly during my time here. Back then, my life (real life) was just about to become hectic and so my personal time had to suffer, and for yet another time in my life I had to let EQ go. Marriage, renovating a house (still doing the backyard) and all that 'fun' stuff got in the way. Luckily for me, I am now have some more spare time. Currently though, until my brother is done building his computer and returning mine, I have only an old laptop to provide me my EQ fix, but luckily, it is enough!

I've installed EQ and hopefully recruited some old friends and EQ players to join me on this journey once again. Previously my main, Voce, reach the heights of level 16 barding, but being Australian, I found grouping difficult at the off-peak server time (and my main play time). I was hoping someone could recommend some more solo friendly classes (as my previous experience in EQ was playing a Paladin (my main), and a druid and bard alt).

Also, with Kunark now in, should I be moving over to those lands or is the main continent still populated enough for grouping? I never played Kunark in the original days (left just before), so for me it is a brand new world (that said, I feel like I touched very little of the original Norrath in my first one year)!

I'm glad to be coming back, EQ has a feeling that can't be captured by anything else.

Bards can solo very effectively but require much more finesse.

Necro, druid, mage, shaman, chanter can all solo all the way up as well.

With pets though if they do more than 50% of the damage they take half the exp, so mage/shaman soloing can be a little slower at times.

Good advice from liveitup, should also be mentioned though that Shaman can't really solo very effectively until level 34 when they get their first pet. After that they are pretty powerful solo though.

Thank you for the info.

I had barding pretty good when I last played and didn't have TOO much troubles solo'ing but I do prefer to group. But yeah, as I pointed out, that is kinda difficult during off peak times (is there a good place/method to string together people apart from doing a /who?). I can always get back into the bard, no biggy. But hopefully I'll have some people joining me on my new adventures, so I guess my new class will depend on what they pick!

Personally, I want to try something different, so any of those really will work just fine [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

So, as my first time playing an Enchanter, does anyone have any tips, play style suggestions, etc?

Firstly, thank you to that lovely Barbarian who handed me (on my brother's level 1 druid in Kelethin) some plat to buy spells.
Secondly, thank you to Jojack for handing my Enchanter some plat and items.
And thank you for this board for the awesome wealth of information on Enchanters (http://www.project1999.org/forums/sh...ad.php?t=20883, http://www.project1999.org/forums/sh...ight=enchanter).

Now I need to reroll my Enchanter as I didn't pick Agnostic, still, she's only level 2 [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I do have a question those, on P99, are the Enchanter Lull and Whirl Till You Hurl spells nerfed? Or as they were originally (pre-nerf)?

Whirl Till You Hurl is nerfed. It was the first nerfed spell on live, it lasted like 2 weeks.

I too forgot to pick Agnostic. FYI, it hasn't made a bit of difference.

Default Bards

After 18 bards are amazing solo'rs. AOE kiting is insane XP and honestly its pretty easy. Its tiring both physically and mentally but its great XP.

Also, every raid guild wants more bards. MR resist for the win :P

I love playing my bard and I should start playing her again. But for now, I'll try out something different with the Enchanter. If I could get a group then I'll be even more happy (damn Australian timezone)!
