How much is this computer worth, would you pay for it?

I found a guy locally that has this computer and wants to sell it to me for 450, is it worth 450 ?

Decent laptop. Competitive laptops like the Toshiba P505 are running about the same...

that link refers to a 3 year old rig. not sure why u want to waste 450 on it, but it sure isn't worth that much.
i don't know the notebook prices in the states, however in europe u get a new notebook that outperforms the linked one by lightyears for around 600 euros. don't think prices will differ that much transatlantic, although i rememmber computer stores were really trying to sell old shit, when i was in the states.

yeah that laptop in OPs original post isn't worth 450. I'd honestly try craigslist in your area. Probably end up getting something better for at least $100 cheaper

I would never buy a gateway, I would not buy a used Laptop either..
