Mage Pets Poof?

can anyone confirm that if you zone with a pet, the pet will poof on this version? if this is true, then that's just plain dumb and stupid.

? kills the pvp aspect for a mage...id say 90% of fights that I've encountered ended up being a zone fight (since most people cant handle this) ... that said, as a mage if his pet poofs just kills the whole pvp idea, its stupid
