Default “Removed items levelling guide”

Hey y'all. I missed green 1,

How did the list work if you were the right level showed to ass/sup you got it?

If the list was longer than like 12 hours and you went to bed you lost your place? Or would the list be long enough you could sleep and not reach 1.
Could being in a less played timezone help?

Did most people who wanted one get one?

How long did people habe to get these items? A week a month? A year?

And is there any kinda guide or checklist on like how to level with a view to scooping these items in mind?

Like either by lowest level npc who drops an item or prioritising the items removed first?
Tips like not killing live frogs for ease of access into dead side etc?

The wiki has legacy items but lumped together the removed nerfed and retroactive nerfs all together.

I'd take a stab at making something myself I've already picked a class and race I'll enjoy.

You needed to meet minimum level requirement which in Classic could take a significant amount of time for Manastone and Guise, weeks or even months.

Then you needed to get to the camp, typically not difficult with minimal help. Then you would /list and be placed in queue. Every few minutes a box would appear and you needed to type in a code from that box and you got no confirmation if the code was right. Missed two or three tries and you'd get booted from the list. I can't recall if disconnect would get you booted from the list. Then the people there would clear placeholder spawns until the named one did and only sometimes it would drop the item in question which then could only be looted by the person first in line. It could be streaky, e.g. some people waited 12 hrs for JBoots and others 48hrs. In more compeitive camps like Manastone some players are said to have waited 4 days or even more. The only way anyone could realistically do this is through cheating or account sharing. Sitting for that long at age 40+ poses significant risk of venous thrombosis and death. If /list didn't kill anyone yet it can be expected to should it return.

Why were people queueing for Jboots? You can just get them later lmao.

Limited time stuff I get though.

No other way to get them at the time and it was a fairly long time before AC-camp opened up and 5k plat was a significant amount of cash early on and possibly will be even more so the case on any fresh server after Hill Giant spawn nerf. I doubt most expected to stay up for 24+ hours either, but RNG could be cruel at times. In a sense AC is no different in OoT, sometimes you get it first spawn and sometimes it takes ages.
