Still No Word?

I keep coming back every so often for word of a new server launch.

I know they are still active behind the scenes. They turned on bonuses for July 4th.

The last player posting on the communications sticky at the top of the page was in May 2024. Looked like the last posting from any P99 team member was October 2019.

Should I stop holding my breath? I keep passing out waiting.

Green was always intended to be the finished product while Blue essentially served as a trial run / development server prior to Green’s release. There won’t be a new server because Green is the fulfillment of the original vision. It’s mission accomplished at this point. Simple as that.

If you want a fresh experience, start up an alt and don’t put 200k into it to trivialize the content.

Then why do they keep pushing patches for Green?

Some of those patches remove content from the game prior to a certain month and year. Those mainly include the first 12 months the game was out, yet the game is at the end of Velious.

Do these particular patches from June 1st 2025 make any sense to you?

Nilbog: Lord Soptyvr no longer spawns until [Feb2000]
Nilbog: Thadres Thyme will not spawn until [Jul1999]
Nilbog: Redwind and icy orcs do not spawn until [Oct1999]
Nilbog: 'Leuz's Task' is not available until [Apr2001].
Nilbog: 'Necromancer Words' quests now work. Quest givers do not spawn until [Jul1999]
Nilbog: Martar Icebear won't spawn until [Oct1999].

Why waste time on these patches? We are clearly past those dates in the game's timeline.

Uh. No.

Green still sees patches of pre-current content. Green was initially supposed to be merged with Blue but then they went back on that statement and left it up in the air. Maybe the goal was a classic like run through the content just one time, or a recurring server, I haven't seen anything to state one or the other.

I foresee Blue and Green will not be merged.

Lets face it.
- Dealing with duplicate names
- Injecting soooooooooo much plat and items into Green economy is going to cause complaints
- Why would the GM staff want to deal with the headaches in competing raid arguments?
- Needing to balance the work on this merger while opening yet another server just is too much work.

Nah, just better to open yet another server and let blue quietly fade to nothing (see Red) and allow those who don't like competition to remain.

Bonus foresight! No injection of Luclin to either green or blue. Too much work and already soooooo much has been stripped to put this stuff back in.

Oh and Secrets's server will be the place to be for fun!

Every now and then Botten comes here and posts random arguments against a merge, that are then shot down and he disappears. Then comes back a bit later and tries again.

Huh? This is absolutely not true. Look at the staff's own words

If you just want confirmation that Green 2.0 is coming, go read the bug forum. You can see they are fixing things which could only matter on a future Green 2.0 server (eg. fixing content that is already out-of-era).

However, while it's true that Green 2.0 is coming, the staff operates on their own, very slow timeline; breath holding is ill-advised.
