Default Is there any melee class that can challenge Monk for best solo

Is there any melee class that might be at least on par, if not better than, monk in terms of dungeon crawling solo or being a solo character at 60? I’m at a crossroads in terms of which of my classes to play and need to just pick one, now that they’re all 50+.

I’d like a class that has lots to do at 60, especially when it comes to dungeons and doing some solo artist stuff. Not a big raider.

Thank you

You may want to clarify what you mean by "lots to do at 60". Even Monks will be somewhat limited in what they can solo at level 60 without raid gear.

Shadowknights are a great class for soloing and dungeon crawling as a melee character. Here is a video of me crawling from Seb entrance towards Disco.

Didn't quite make it to disco in this video due to a mistake, but you can get an idea of what a Shadowknight dungeon crawl looks like.

answer is pretty obvious when fd plays the biggest role in a melee's ability to dungeon crawl

Most melee solo artist feats involve insane gear. If you aren’t a raider I wouldn’t even daydream about crawling seb or chardok sniping named spawns.

Roll an ench, shaman, necro, or Druid. If you want the best of those for most situations: Ench.

Quick answer no
Geared sk can do a lot,but still pales to an equally geared monk.

Ok I should clarify by saying I am not a “hardcore” daily raider. I do still raid and intend to raid maybe 2-3 times per month. Over time I imagine I can get some decent raid gear, even if it’s slow.

Seems like the answer is “no” though, to my original question. Does this also apply to killing difficult nameds? I mean it seems obvious a monk can flop her way through a zone so it’s evident who can “crawl” better but what about actually fighting their way through and taking on a big mob?

Nice video DSM!

Thanks! Be aware raid gearing a monk will generally take much longer than a Shadowknight/Paladin, especially as a casual raider. Monk equipment is generally more expensive DKP-wise, and more sought after.

So even though a fully raid geared Monk is indeed better than a Shadowknight/Paladin, you will probably get farther ahead of a Monk in terms of raid gear as a casual raider with a Shadowknight/Paladin.

I’ve definitely crawled and solo’d much of Sebilis on my Pally including most of the named (C/E is hard without consumables, and King is impossible) but I’ve done a fair amount of the solo artist challenge. My gear is pretty good but nothing insane. I do have a primal, but otherwise, most of what I’m wearing could be had just by raiding fairly casually for a long period of time, or raiding in a raid guild for a year or so.

Being able to lull your way around the dungeon makes it really doable.
