Default Steamdeck music not playing?

Followed the main Steamdeck guide successfully utilizing Proton 9.0-4 for compatibility.

Only issue is that music isn't playing, I've seen some posts regarding additional utilities to use for getting midi playing under Linux but not sure how/if this can be accomodated for Steamdeck?

Have you tried restarting the Deck completely?

Restarting didn't get music playing, following the mentioned guide using QSynth sort of works.

Music only plays in Desktop mode after running P99 via Launch Titanium + Game Launch Options then opening the sound menu. Without opening the sound menu no music audio plays.

Next is to check if QSynth has any other command arguments to get audio started w/o opening the sound menu.

For anyone that comes across this same issue: Switching QSynth settings to Alsa fixed the music not playing until opening the sound menu problem.
