![]() Hey, looking to get back into this game. I played way back in 1999 through about 2005 on the PVP server on live. I’ve played some of these emulator versions throughout the years but it’s been about 10 years since I played last. Looks like P 99 is still kicking. Which server should I join? Looks like Green has the most players? Can anybody chime in on green versus blue other than population?

![]() I played a PVP server on live. But red just doesn’t have enough players to make it worth playing here. There’s only like 30 or 40 people online. Green looks good because there’s at least 600 to 800 players on all the time. So I should run into some other people. What I’m worried about is that I’ll probably be soloing all the way up to top level because everybody on the servers is likely already at the game. How long has Green been up and running? How do the earlier zones look? Are they just totally empty?

![]() I assume green has a bit healthier leveling scene but the earlier zones (CB, BB, Befallen, etc.) are probably pretty empty. So at this point starting fresh I would definitely choose a solo-friendly class.

![]() you have a better chance at doing content on RED99, like spoil said ble/gren is all empty, the nerds on green blue just want to use you to gear their alts, if you even get a chance at doing content with them.
Atleast on red the pop is a true reflection of whos playing, 95% of players on pve servers are afk or trading items in the n00b tunel of frepot

![]() It’s a difference of 600 players to 40 players. It does seem like there’s a big push for people to go on red here but I’m wondering if that’s just for you guys to find somebody to kill since it’s a PVP server. Either way, 40 players spread out across the vast landscape of EverQuest is essentially like playing the game by yourself. At least on Green with 600 people running around I’ll run into somebody here and there. Looks like green it is. Thanks for your help everyone! Will install tomorrow and log in. Maybe I’ll get lucky and have a character on there already haha. I know I have a shaman on red from 12 years ago.
Maybe I should start begging for gear now since I have to solo and this game is brutal. I forget what the best class is to solo, bard? Mage? Necro? I had a cleric on live back in 2000 but soloing that would be a total pain.

![]() Pretty much everything can solo at this point but for real, bard is like fast mass soloing with bard kiting, mage is pretty decent at soloing until 30 but it slows down (IMO) around then, necro you can solo well all the way to 60.
The best solo classes are probably enchanter, shaman, necro in that order, and wizard, druid is able to exp solo well as well.

![]() Bard first then enchanter, etc? I had a 50+ bard on the live PVP server back in the day. Think I played cleric to 70, ranger to 70 and got their epics. Played shaman, bard, Druid to at least 50+

![]() The thing is bards can solo a very specific type of creature, but enchanter can solo like pretty much anything.
Shaman is fun because its valuable to have a healer for Pug grouping, but it also can solo well.
