In Flames
These guys are absolutely without a doubt the best live show I've seen time and again without fail. Their live sound is as good as their studio quality, but better because of the bass thumping in your ribs, crowd environment, etc. Some bands have come close to being this awesome, but they take the lead for me personally.

local natives with the LA philharmonic orchestra
my favorite band right now. the show was amazing, the video does no justice though because you can't hear the orchestra really.

In flames is good, seen them about 6 times live. My personal 2 most exciting/best live performances of all time have to be Megadeth (the crowd is so intense for them, unlike anything i've ever seen) and Iron Maiden (Just because their stage show is unmatched) ...number 3 would be the misfits...well just because they're sick

There is no place for chairs or seats in metal, ever. If I saw them up close and personal, I probably would have been in heaven.

Best stage show, by far, was Alice Cooper. In terms of best musical performance it's a toss up between Slayer and Blind Guardian.

The three other best shows I been to: The Flaming Lips @ The Fox Theatre (these guys put on a great show) The Dead @ Shoreline Ampitheatre (Grateful Dead less Jerry [rip] plus Warren Haynes (awesome guitarist of Allman Brothers fame)) Bonobo @ I don't even fucking remember (awesome chillout DJ/producer who sometimes tours with musicians and plays his stuff life)
