Where is this teal server? I only see blue, red and green. Did they merge green and teal?

Teal was the Mecca of true classic EQ gaming, accidentally created (and then destroyed) by the staff, and now everyone who got to experience it (or at least all of the "non-competitors") will forever dream of its return.

Er no it was literally created because the lowbie zones were so swarmed with people that people were camping individual trash mobs. The staff literally said this was the reason. And once the population spread out from the lowbie zones they merged back.

They created it to split the population, but what they (perhaps) didn't realize was all the "competitors" would choose to stay on Green to compete, and all the "casuals" would happily go to the new/less-competitive server.

But again, their intent is irrelevant: what they wound up creating was a better server.

Teal was a splinter server of green where we had our own cool instance of getting phat lewts. It was like a parallel universe where everyone loved each other and there was peace and prosperity, but the gods decided to experiment by mashing the two universes back into one, which unleashed pain, sorrow, and evil into the world like Pandora's box. However, one must remember that one cannot know true happiness without sorrow, and there cannot be light without darkness, so our memory of teal will always be one of beauty, and as a former resident of teal I long to return one day.
