for now my focus is eq, lvling the grind sucks cuz ive been in the same zone for 11 lvls and still got 4 more lvls there, but itll be fun to explore kc from 50-53, then seb, chardok to 60 and charasis for those lvls
but ive thought about doing the uthgaard emu server from daoc, but no clue how to connect and a rl friend said its not worth it, bored of tibia, game isnt great any more wondering what other mmos out there i could play for free, i do play on wow emulator, but it got boring fast wondering if theres some other great games like eq

No, there really isn't. You can browse and try stuff on mmorpg.com but there is nothing that will give you your exact EQ fix.

DAoC is probably going to be the closest to EQ, I sort of view DAoC as the missing link of MMOs.
after going back and playing DAoC some on uth you can really see how it is the bridge between EQ and WoW. you can tell it is really trying hard to be like EQ with some tweaks , and almost all of those differences you will notice as things they ran with in WoW. DAoC is sort of like if WoW was a grinding and camp game like EQ instead of a questing game.

I haven't tried this, but you might want to take a look:
http://www.planeshift.it/download.html I'll play it eventually. It's a community-made mmorpg. Very bright potential. You can fight, write books and cook (for roleplaying), do other crafting, and the goal is to produce things to do other than just fighting alone. I see that as a good thing because too many games put all their efforts on combat skills. That would be a good community to join if you're a potential hobbyist developer. Sure, you don't make any money from it, but I think niche games will only truly shine in community-based avenues.

Play Vanguard. Great game. Sad that it never took off, but the community that plays is really welcoming.

I really enjoyed Ultima Online for a long time. It was my first MMO and if you miss the classic version of it there's a free server at www.uosecondage.com It's a great remake and the GMs are very involved in it just like here at P99
