![]() If you just got it, it's like all spells. The first few tries it will fail. It will always have a chance of failing. Casters will break your FD. Etc.

At least, that's how it was for monk last time I checked, and I would assume that is the problem you're encountering.

![]() Look for a message that says '{your name} has fallen to the ground.'
If you see that, FD successfully cast, but didn't fool anyone. There is no message after a successful Feign Death. The mob just stops attacking and stands there for a few moments before returning to where ever it was before you aggroed it. Make sure your cast isn't interrupted. I would estimate that since getting FD as a necro at 16, I've gotten the 'has fallen to the ground' message less than 50 times in 40 levels of using it. And I use it *very* often. Edit: low alteration skill does NOT effect the probability of success, only the probability of the cast not fizzling. As mentioned aove, an NPC's cast initiated on you before you FD will still land, and break your feign.

![]() I don't remember spell:Feign Death ever failing. It should be 100% success.
That was the pros and cons of each type. Monks - instant, no need to memorize, chance to fail. necro/SK - 100% success, cast time, interuptable

![]() I used to have a macro set up when I played live. I had "/doability 1" (mend) and then "/doability 2"(fiegn death) and then "/con" on the next line. That way with a push of the button I could attempt mend, feign death and con the mob to see if feign was successful. A successful attempt the mob will con indifferent.
