Man sharing spawns what a noble and pathetic concept on a video game. So even the bads get fat and everyone plays for hours. But in return you get to be part of an online gaming community/guild that after thousands of hours played. Your char spins in server startup or stands dances in a tunnel. In this tunnel you can tell all the noobs who want to be cool with all the items “how hard it was to spend basically your life doing this for 2 years straight”.

Well I guess the alternative is rise of virgins or just finding anything else to do.

I can’t disagree with statement unfortunately. We are talking Everquest in 2019. I am guilty too, but yep eq 2019, deal with it or play rise of virginity.

I disagree. There's a lot of games out there much older than EQ that people still play in 2019. Poker is one of them, or any other card game. Basketball is another, or any other sport. Some of these games haven't changed appreciably in hundreds of years.

What's the point of playing EQ or any game? For me I like the social interaction interspersed with strategic play through challenging scenarios. In many ways I find it similar to playing cards or team sports. These are things that just don't get old to me.

I don't think things need to constantly be new. I don't think that's a human attitude or a human good. I think it's an attitude that's been hammered into our heads through decades of propaganda to turn us into good little consumers. I don't think we should feel shame or guilt for playing an "old game".

I mean, technically speaking, all of us are mentally ill all the time.

Heck, every single time we sleep, we go into a psychotic state just to help our brain cope with "reality" being fixed.

Personally, do not worry about those labels, they are as moot as people calling others different for enjoying bird watching or playing eq or collecting miniature trains.

It it wasnt EQ you were playing, you might think you would be doing something "constructive" or beneficial or actually generating wealth or whatever inane platitude you want to give others on behalf of your time spending habits, but it is all a lie, to please a social normative that reinforces "positive" habits of "success", it is all a lie, a scam, but that is another topic, so in short, do not worry at all about any of that.

Just enjoy what you enjoy doing. No one is going to take away or give you a medal at the end of the road for anything you did here, not your government, your family or friends. At most you can give yourself one if you into that though.

If you make a million trillion gazillion dollars or earn 0 and at the end rack up debts with banks, you will still be dust and the only difference is how much fun you had with the time allotted to you by genetics and environment.

Sane , insane, mentally ill, it is ... for me at least, as useful as saying a dog has legs or a cat a raspy tongue or hawks fly.

Just have fun, do not worry man.
