Thumbs up Guild Wars

Guild Wars were in classic everquest during the 1999-2001 everquest period.
When will guid wars be added to project 1999?

Nilbog has stated he will add it eventually.
We are at the 'final patch' and it's still not added.

---
If two guilds both enabled guild wars with each other, the game would allow members of both guilds to PvP with each other.

/guildwar
Allows the guild leader to challenge or accept another guild in a guild war along with the length of the war in days. Both guild leaders must execute the command.

/guildpeace
Allows the guild leader to end a guild war. The leaders of both guilds must execute this command to end the war.

This is not a rants and flames thread.

I would love for guild-war to make it to p99

People say teams is what makes eq pvp work, but I've never tried raiding being the switch that turns it on, and would love to see what life would be like if you want to raid, you're killable by enemy raiders!

I have a feeling that would provide 30+ years of blue99 fun for a lot of folks!

It'd be harmless fun at that point!

But what do I know, that's just my opinion, man. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

honestly, guild wars on a blue setting could be fun, but would guilds really pvp over raid targets? i doubt it.

everyone is talking about how teams pvp would work, how many of u played tallon zek ? ( original teams pvp server ) because yeah, it was a lot of fun on the lower lvls, darkies vs lighties, shorties etc, the fights going on in EC were hella nice, people /shouting "lighties in zone" and everyone packed stuff to go pvp them, same in faydark when shorties came to pvp at crushbones ent etc, lots of fun. Reality is that at higher lvls it didnt work out, pandemonium broke teams creating an all-races guild, soon everyone followed, indignation, sanctimony, xanadu...high-end pvp ended when all but one race were dead, and u would have for example, all the darkies from 3 guilds standing on the zoneline of X zone with a hundred corpses at their feet, not being able to carry on or to see who won the zone.

thats how teams pvp would work.

imo the pvp ruleset that works in eq is plain and simple pvp with level range, so guilds can compete over zones and bosses, thats it. no item loot, no exp death penalty, no YTs for the egotrip, no bullshit. just classic pvp

what is good about teams is that on the lower levels the world feels safer, not everyone is a target or a potential killer, thats it, but post 46 it should be allowed FFA or we would have those problems i mentioned

There's a reason many of us didn't even know about the /guildwar command until we came here and someone mentioned it was missing: there is literally zero incentive for guilds to use it ... except if they're bored and want to have fun (and/or settle something).

And that is exactly why it belongs on Blue! No rational guild would ever use it ... but maybe, after ten years of our raid scene, maybe just maybe someday two passionate neckbeard guild leaders will get upset enough at each other to make it happen (even though it would mean taking time away from collecting precious pixels).

For those of us who enjoyed PvP, want to PvP but cant really see the point of playing on a server with only 25 people, this is the perfect solution.

In fact, it would make a lot of sense to simply have two guilds (light races and dark races) to be in perpetual guildwar which would basically emulate racial PvP on the Blue server. People who want to PvP can do so and still enjoy a server with a healthy population.

This is a really good idea with zero downsides.

Yep, there would be a lot of fun possibilities, and people could get creative with it. And it's classic! As a former TZ player, I'm all for it.

Aftermath vs Riot in a guild war?

Let's make it happen. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
