Default Are UI Modifications Legal? Suggestions?

Hello all!

My brother and I were endgame EverQuest players 15+ years ago. We decided to jump back in on Project 1999 Blue. We're really excited to get started once our IP exemption is approved, but in the meantime I have a couple UI related questions.

I play on a monitor with a native resolution of 3200 x 1800. The game plays beautifully on this resolution, but my UI elements are insanely small. I have the /chatfontsize turned up to 5 and it's still very difficult to read my chat window. The other elements of the UI are difficult to see / click on as well. I've tried running the game at lower resolutions in order to make the UI larger, but it creates other issues on the display. Doesn't look right.

Doing a bit of research online I've found a couple different custom UI's for P99. I know that running third party software / modifications is strictly forbidden , so my first question is - are custom UI's OK to install? I don't want to get in hot water over it.

If anyone has any suggestions as to a particular custom UI that works well on high resolution displays, that would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Greg

Yes. Maybe try DuxaUI from the thread in this forum, it's not designed for that resolution but it's better either way.

In the mean time for reading the chat, /chatfont 6 is quite a bit larger than /chatfont 5. Not sure why when you type /chatfont it says 5 is the highest.

Yes, in-game UI skins as well as any programs that reads your log file and does something in response (eg. GINA) are allowed. Any program that reads anything else (eg. Show EQ) is not allowed.

It was at this point I decided to no longer be kind to the casuals as they have extreme short term memory. They did this to themselves, unfortunately.

Installed DuxaUI. Works well, but my UI elements are still incredibly small. If anyone knows of a way to scale up the UI without changing the resolution, that would be great.

Thanks!
