Default Traveler's Boots vs J-Boots

So, that gnome in Sol A is selling Traveler's Boots:
http://wiki.project1999.com/Traveler%27s_Boots

The effect appears to be the same as j-boots (+35% run speed). 5k is around the retail price if I recall correctly, so much cheaper than j-boots MQ (average of 7k).

The only difference I see is a 1.5 second cast instead of insta cast.

Any reason NOT to buy these instead of j-boots? Only reason I can think of is j-boots gives you a nice junk buff (due to insta cast) during certain encounters in outdoor zones or when fighting dispellers outside.

Anything I'm missing? I haven't gotten my j-boots yet, so would rather buy the 1.5 sec casting ones if there is no serious drawback.

instacast clickies also instantly refresh your spell bar (instead of having to wait 1.5 seconds or whatever between casts).

wha...what the @#$%!!! This would have been stellar to know prior to many gaming sessions at AC for my necromancer. Fairly certain these are not in game? Or maybe they released with Velious?

Buying J boots is for the weak, camp your own ring and J boots are nearly free (minus the RNG of the turn in that can make you want to /wrists, cant put a price on sanity)

They are definitely in game, have seen them when buying my latest Tink Bag.

I am not a caster, so refreshing spell bar I don't care for, and I'm not quadding or anything where I need my sow up always.

I'm also not wanting to deal with drama of camping a ring, so if I'm going to buy... no reason NOT to get these?

Maybe can see it as a service of removing plat from the server. There, I feel better about myself.

For 1-2k more you can get an item which you will basically never regret having. Otherwise, you should probably just use SoW pots.

I find I would regret spending 2k more to save 1.5 secs of my life now and then. I get that it isn't superior to jboots... but regret? a bit of a stretch.

Not about saving 1.5seconds. Can cast while moving, instantly replace when dispelled w/o interrupting attack, refresh spell bar, lag people out with perpetual kaioken aura and more! Saved seconds are not a consideration ^^

But yes, no need to regret ^^

Yea....jboots in general are so expensive....5k?

That is equal to 50 full sow pots....

Which is 500 doses of sow....

Which is 250 hours of sow.....

Unless you are going to go ALL the way to 50+ on a character, it is just way cheaper to throw on a bunch of sow potions. I play lotta alts, so getting Jboots on them is usually out of the question.
