Default Project 1999 Code - Long Term Goals of Project 1999

Is there anyone that actually has access to Nilbog/Rogean? I know Rogeans stance was always keeping P1999's work private and not sharing but has this view been confirmed recently? It would be great for the emulator community if it was released. I understand the Devs wanting to finish what they set out to do but I would say they are reaching that goal soon, with Velious being out for a year. The experiment is over and they created great servers.

Does anyone have access to Nilbog/Rogean that could get an idea of their thoughts on the future of Blue/Red, releasing the code, or a confirmation that they plan on just leaving these servers as they are forever?

I will copy this over to Blue as well so it gets more attention since it relates to P1999 as a whole.

Would you expect Apple to release all of their software code for free after all the hard work they put in to create it? Servers like these need to be built from the ground up and these nerds have put in years of their lives in order to make this what it is. Yes, I would like them to release the code 2 so that there could be more then one big classic eq emulator but that shit just aint gunna happen pal. Regardless of all of their personality flaws, I still respect the amount of neckbearding that went into p99's code.

P99 didn't get free code from Daybreak. They use EQEmu, which has been written from scratch by volunteers with no contribution from Daybreak.

As for the client software, it is used by the players who bought it from SOE back then.
