Hi I keep having an issue of crashing to desktop, it happens in the blink of an eye and eq is completely not running, the bad part is I am a druid so I am usually root dotting and yes you guessed it once I can get back in I am dead.

Now I played for awhile and this never happened till this week, I have however had problems with zoning, will get a(everquest is not responding) usually when I am zoning into East commons.

Computer is gateway
AMD Phenom Quad-Core
Windows Vista
Invidia GeForce 8800 GT

any help will be appreciated, losing this much exp everytime is tough. Thanks

Are you playing in fullscreen?

There's something about some resolutions having not been around when Titanium was released, and so if you click outside of the pixel area it crashes the client. Switching to windowed mode seems to fix it because you're not stretching the screen artificially.

Edit: And the technical points of what I just wrote may be way off, but the fix worked for me if it's the same issue :P

Alternately, next time it crashes go to C:\...\Everquest\Logs and paste your dbg.txt file here

I have had this issue since starting this server. Just happened as a matter of fact. Pull with affliction and then bam, desktop. I am waiting now to log back in with the full expectation of being dead.

This bug sucks.

Do you get "ERROR: String not found." in your log file?

If so, there are a couple of threads about this including http://www.project1999.org/forums/showthread.php?t=5451

I have a buddy that is telling me he is having the same type of issues. Most of the time he is in combat when the screen will just "black out" make a strange sound and crash to desktop.

A few times he wasn't doing anything, just sitting there to heal up when he crashed. Can't stay on for even 10 minutes now without it happening. The only thing I can think of doing is reinstalling from scratch for him.

I think it has to do with your internet connection. Whenever I lose connection from my wireless my game seems to freeze but a ctr+alt + delete takes care of it. are you connected to a wireless router?
