![]() Every Wizard from live to p1999 knows these spells are complete trash. Horrific in their inefficiency, the only spells you'd actually use were the pillars.
I always theorized that they used to hit all targets without a cap - thus the cost - and were nerfed with their cost never being adjusted. What was weird is that they kept making these spells into Kunark and beyond.

![]() Al'Kabor was the ultimate troll against his own kind, then to top it off he gave melees one of their best shoulder pieces.

![]() I read a rumor that they originally had no limit in targets, similar to a PBAoE. During Beta a Wizard was the first to 50. I think Wizards simply exploited the power they originally had and were nerfed hard before release.

![]() It was right up there with some of the other myths and theories
Remember the Megaladon that was supposedly in Lake Rathe in alpha/beta and then removed due to issues? Also, my personal favorite - Mayong Mistmoore was originally in game and the model was that of the Maestro of Rancor. I actually believe that latter part - there's no way they made a custom model for some mini boss in Hate.

![]() I look to the Mannaburn debacle as a template of what most likely happened to Wizards during the development of the game. Lucy and the football haha. A class defining ability that made Wizards amazingly powerful in concert reduced to a completely useless ability, no middle ground for Wizards. 12 wizards killing raid targets alone: Unacceptable. 1 monk soloing Bristlebane: Awesome.

The "Megalodon" in Lake Rathe was actually just naked "Kraken" or something. It was like a lvl 15 large-tree snake model that didn't drop anything the two times I've come across it. It still spawns I think, or atleast it did for as long as I played on live EQ. There are also some other rare/random water snake-like nameds in Dagnor's Cauldron that I believe fed into this "Megolodon" rumor. lol
