Default OSX Yosemite upgrade vs Wineskin?

I run p99 through Wineskin on a 2011 macbook pro. The os I'm currently using is 10.9.3 and the game runs.. not great, but it works. Is there anyone else out there that also runs p99 through wineskin on a mac and has tried it with OSX 10.10.1 (yosemite)? Something broke and it took a while to fix last time I updated my OS, so I figured I'd just ask first before doing it again. I know almost nothing about Macs, so any insight would be appreciated.

-PS-
Anyone have any ideas on how to make the wineskin run faster/better? It takes a long time to load the program and get into game. Once I'm in it seems to be ok, but just takes forever to connect.

Thanks!

if you want the best performance and no bullshit, bootcamp windows and roll with that

I did the wineskin thing for a while, ended up with a bootcamp because it was just so much better

I'm running the latest version of Yosemite and found this wrapper on these boards and it works very well. Also seems to be near the most recent wineskin executables.

Hey guys,

If you're running Mavericks (OS X 10.9), I invite you to give this simple setup a try:

1. Download EverQuest.zip
2. Unzip it. It becomes a .app that was created by following the steps Innova posted earlier in this thread.
3. Double-click that .app, and enjoy!

After following the numerous steps in Innova's walkthrough, I realized that we're just creating a Windows sandbox that's configured to run EQ, so once the sandbox is created, there's really no need for anyone else to have to go through the same lengthy setup. It's all self-contained and ready to run on any machine!

It's a large download, but only about 100 MB larger than the installer discs and supplementary files.

Please let me know if this works / doesn't work for you guys!

I've been playing P99 on an old macbook pro for two years now. Works great. haven't had much issue with the Yosemite upgrade, if anything, seems to be a bit better performance wise.

I'm having an issue with the Project 1999 app that when I run it, it just says "Connecting...." and never gets past that. Eventually times out. Anyone run into that? I am on Yosemite and went through those steps in the forum for getting running with wineskin. I have no eqclient.ini file for one...
