It's really a skill vrs non-skill question.

At higher levels if a chanter gets a rapture on a wiz its game over. Wiz is a few buttom class nothing more nothing less with very little utility other then booming away people (what you would expect a Wiz to do right? ) Enchanter takes a bit more skill and less boom boom.

1v1 a 60 chanter should win 99% of the time, unless wiz had a way to dot himself but still...pretty sure unless its bottom slotted 2x pillages would take it away.

If a wizard has a crim pot, chanters can weave in and out of max range and mana drain since it has a fast cast time (Vyrenoth did this to me in a 1v1 on Drakar and the duel lasted an eternity and was excruciatingly frustrating).

If the chanter has a cure shield, the wizard cannot possibly win even with crim pots and will lose a 1v1 100% of the time unless the chanter suffers from mental illness and fails to chain rapture and mana sieve the wizard to no mana.
