Smile Hello!

Hello!

So, I'm an old EQ player (started towards the end of classic just before Kunark released) and recently heard about this project. After digging up some info on it, I had to give this a shot. EQ was my first MMO and admittedly I probably lost weeks of my life to it in my teens, haha.

So far I've been having a lot of fun! It's nice to see so many people in zones I remember well. I did a /who gfay last night and I couldn't help but smile when it said there were too many players to list. ~*~*~nostalgia~*~*~

I'm curious though. How difficult is it to find groups? I rolled up a halfling cleric (Bysmark) and quickly got him to level 9 because I wanted to play with others, and EQ was the only game I ever enjoyed healing classes on. I tried a couple times shouting in EC and looked in a few other zones, but no luck. Am I just in the wrong zone for groups at this point? That could be the problem, as I honestly don't even remember where was popular to go at which level. Figured I would look for some advice from more veteran players here [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Thanks!

Bys

Welcome, Bysmark! It's great to see new people joining up (even though I'm a newbie too!)

I can't speak too much on finding groups. After all, I'm only level 12. However, I had a ton of success in Blackburrow earlier today. I managed to get a full group going despite the overall server population being, relatively, low.

East Commonlands is a great place to level up, but it's also where all the auctioning is going on. It's very possible that your occasional shouts of LFG got drown out by the constant buying and selling of a hundred other players.

As long as you /who and see people around your level, there's group potential. I got my full group in Blackburrow by sending individual tells to players I saw in the zone. I think you just gotta reach out for groups to happen in some places.

Hope it helps.

Finding a group as a cleric is not bad. I PuG'd the whole way to 59, and on good days if I was lucky people who /friended me would send me tells seconds after I logged in. On bad days, try to start your own group. Already having a cleric, it is easy enough to get some warm bodies in camp for slow pulls until you can fill the group out.

Cleric is my favorite, GL and grats on racial Hide!![You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Edit: i should add LFG gets easier as people become higher level. At lower levels groups can get by with minimal heals...hell my 17 warrior was grouped with 4 monks in highpass recently and we would just mend / bandage and squeak by.
