Default New Kid in Town

Hey all,

Just installed. I played back right around when the Ruins of Kunark expansion came out as a Halfling Rogue, though I think I only made it up to level 35ish. No idea what I'm gonna roll, but I am hoping to group up as I've found that a lot of newer MMOs have lost the social aspect.

Looking forward to seeing people in game!

you will swiftly find that it is a great community! Just have to put forth the effort to form a group when none are LFM!

If you end up being a master race Iksar, look me up and I will gladly buff you and help you out as I can in our forsaken lands!

Thanks for the replies!

I dabbled in but never really played an evil race when I played before. Is there any disadvantage to playing an evil race in terms of finding groups? I think I read somewhere that it can be more difficult to find groups, though I may have made it up completely.

Welcome!

Echo'ing Sorock by mentioning don't be shy to send /tells or make groups... some ppl will just solo until they see LFmore 2 group scroll by or some invite in /tell. I don't have much for money or twink items left since I tend to hand out almost everything I've ever come across but if you catch me in game I'll see what I can do 2 help.

Anyhoooo...Drop us an update on what class/race combo u chose and a name so we can try to help you in game. Cheers & enjoy!

hmm well, some days there's just more(or less) people willing to group in X zone you're in. Evil/Good all depends on how easily you want to sell/bank or freely travel. How many times have you played an evil race? If never; then maybe now's the time to try or the flipside:
maybe it's best to stick with what you know.... ultimately; as many have said to others here, " just play what you REALLY want to play". Basic but sound advice.

for iksar, it won't really matter as evil until you leave our lovely lands for the most part.

I am 18 now, and have only exp'd in FoB and Kurns until last night when a group of us hit up the giant fort in WW.

If you go that route, seems groups are plentiful as we all stick together. Some planning will have to come into play when we seek other continents (bringing a wider range of your spells, etc) but you can still find vendors in some cases that will assist in selling or even a friend or something that could help by getting your spells for you if they are a non-evil race to said vendors, etc..

I think it all adds to the fun and social aspect of what makes this great!

Either way, enjoy what you do!

Thanks for the advice!

I do tend to overthink these things a bit too much. I just have to keep reminding myself that this is a game and get the min-maxing stuff that has taken over other MMOs out of my head. I definitely wasn't thinking about min-maxing when I was loving EQ back in the day.

I will keep you updated on my race/class choice! Looking forward to getting started tonight.

Alright, I think I've narrowed it down to Iksar Monk or Iksar Shaman.

The "being hated" aspect of Iksars actually sounds kinda fun the more I think about it.
