Default How reliable is wiki auction tracker

I was just wondering how reliable the tracker on that site is, i was looking stuff up yesterday and i noticed the prices on that site were no where near the prices people were wanting for the same item in EC. Can people make alts and turn on their logs and put up fake auction prices then send those logs to wiki to raise prices for stuff they farm and lower prices for items they want to buy is my real question. Is the wiki prices reliable and do logs get put into the tracker even if the item doesnt sell for that price?

More reliable than TMO guild chat price checks.

Seeing as most people don't list prices for popular items in /auction use it as a starting point.

If you are WTB, sellers see that as weakness and will not give you a price, they will ask how much you are willing to pay and unless it is more than market value they will reject it without saying how much they want.

Also look at the dates for the prices and names. Sometimes its the same person selling something over a 3 day spawn and its listed 10 times. Also some prices are old as dirt. Your best bet is to do PC in EC tunnel or just sit there and see the prices. If 10 people are selling something for 5k and wiki says 3k well the item is probably 5k. Personally anytime someone tell me "well the wiki says....." my response is "well have the wiki sell it to you then [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]"

I use the prices on the wiki as an END point because it is based on people /auctioning things... If I'm buying something, I usually get an average of what is on the list in recent history and pull back 2-5%. For example:
http://wiki.project1999.com/Sash_of_the_dragonborn
I was auctioning sash of the dragonborn for 16k. I think I only got 12.7 for it.

Use it to double check to make sure you aren't getting ripped off. But at the end of the day, sale for what you want and buy for what you want. The item is only as valuable as you make it.
